4th November 2018

Over the weekend Michael and I had a brilliant time at the Shoalhaven All Breeds (Official) show with our Imported Lusitano stallion CELERE! Michael did an awesome job presenting Celere for the led classes, whilst I stepped out of my 'dressage comfort zone' and did the ridden classes which haven't stepped foot in a hack class for over 15 years!!!!

The highlight of the day was being awarded SUPREME RIDER OF THE SHOW!! The judges commented on how a lovely rider I was and great to see someone with soft hands, not bad for an FEI grade II para rider and being judged purely on my riding. I won my first ever rider class when I was under 4 years old so still have it lol!

Celere was just a DUDE lol I lost count at how many people commented on how quiet and good looking he was, I think I could have sold 20 offspring if I had any lol!! even the judge after watching him all day told the photographer 'just chuck your hat right at him to get his ears froward, he wont flinch.. he's a dude!' LOL

The poor boy was exhausted running between classes, walking through very crowded areas with mares and geldings all around. You really could not fault him.

One judge urged me to get out there and do more Hunter Hack competitions with Celere as he's the perfect type, so I may take up their advice this summer and do a few more shows with Celere.

A big thank you to the committee and volunteers of Shoalhaven All Breeds (Official) for running such a great show and having stallions enter the ridden hack events!!
Also, a big thank you to Starlight Browbands for sponsoring the Supreme Rider of Show

I had some fun over the weekend with Luis (JOYERO JF III Absolute adore him! Such a fun and eager to please stallion.

I even asked for some passage which I thought he wouldn't understand straight away as my leg aids are so weak so it took me off guard haha amazing how he understood my soft aids (without a crop) and WOW very active and expressive... and if you laugh... hold on it gets BIGGER haha.

Our connection I would say is strong already and he's only been here 2 weeks!

Here I am trying the Spanish Walk button for the first time which he's trained in to do... I'll be honest I had no real idea so watched old videos with his previous owners doing it.

Over the weekend the Shoalhaven Dressage Club held their end of year Championships - an event that Michael and I love to support each year by sponsoring the Junior events under our stud name Tora V Dressage - PRE & Lusitano.

I'm a strong believer in encouraging our junior riders and letting them know their hardwork and commitment to the sport of dressage is truly recognized!

My own sponsors - Hygain Feeding Champions share the same thoughts and also came on board for this event, awarding ALL junior entrants with a beautiful Hygain saddlecloth and cap, so everyone had a little something to go home with.

Huge congratulations to the Junior Champion
Sienna Zwar on her pony Kenda Park Paladian and
Bridie Harris who was awarded Junior Reserve Champion with Dante of Huntington.

Congratulations to the Shoalhaven Dressage Club president Alycia Targa and the whole committee for another successful championships and we look forward to sponsoring the juniors for the 2019 Championships!

What an amazing insight into the future towards the Tokyo Paralympic qualifiers.

Today, my stunning imported 16.2hh PRE Spanish mare Simpatica XXVII (Simpa) had her first ever outing with Jordan Evans.
The girls did an awesome job scoring 68.261%, in the Official Preliminary 1.3, even scoring an 8.5 for free walk!!!

In the 1.2 they went on to place 3rd with 69.9% (72.885% from one judge!).

Can't thank Jordan enough for her brilliant training and dedication to the project at hand and of course looking after Simpa so well.

I'm very proud to have 3 outstanding quality PRE's (and an equally talented Lusitano) out there promoting the breed

He is SUPER comfy and just like a big teddy bear hahaha
I think most of all my broken body appreciated the smooth ride.

Can't thank Alycia Targa (Millbank Equestrian) enough for her amazing help and guidance this week; I'm super confident in going forward towards my goals and excited for the future with this beautiful stallion!

My 2 stallions Andaluka Elegido (PRE) and Celere (buckskin Lusitano).
So happy to be back on Eddy! Only baby steps until he builds up strength
There's been a lot of tears and patience as he had a year off and about 5 rides over the past 3 months due to my flare and him having some health issues but I have a good feeling he's ready to come back into full work

Looking back at memories...2 years ago we competed at the 2016 NSW State Dressage Championships and in all 3 FEI para tests we scored over 71% and in the freestyle 74.67% (hitting up to 84% in the individual scores!) he certainly is one talented boy xx

3rd September 2018

One day I'm competing at State Dressage Championships, the next day I'm being admitted to hospital for my Rheumatoid and one week I'm coming first and another week I'm coming last LOL.

Sometimes you just have to laugh and have such a strong back bone!

My beautiful Celere..... This even makes me teary thinking about how amazing he was yesterday.

Our first major event competing at open medium and he was a true star - every change was clean, we controlled the 1/4s, had great activity and I walked away with a huge smile on my face.

I believed it was some of our best work. Well I'm 100% in saying it was.

When the scores came rolling in my heart sunk and I was very confused - 2nd and 3rd last out of 32 combinations.

There were some outstanding combinations and top riders I was up against, but I was entitled to be competing against them as I had qualified with good scores!

I said to myself, I would be very pleased placing in the top half as this is realistic for me.

I've been competing at international, national and state level for over 12 years, I've been riding for 31 years - I know when I've done an error, something could have been better, I don't blindly go out there thinking I'm the best - I'm my own worst critic!!!!! I had no answers for yesterday lol.

I couldn't understand why there was even a 6% difference from one judge! That stung.

I arrived home and just went - it is what it is, I did my best, my horse did his best, he kept me safe and I'm thankful to still be out there competing.

I wake up today and read other competitors are feeling the same way - deflated and confused as they too had a similar experience.

I'll just dust this one off and keep on showing up!
as turning up yesterday and campaigning Celere - A Lusitano, ridden by his para rider in open... I've had 2 stud service interests in Celere today, even one from a lady penciling for a judge yesterday.

This made me smile, it's what I strive to do each day - promote the breeds I love and raise awareness for Rheumatoid. Never give up!!

Sadly, and this is not a reflection of my tests yesterday and hell no, I'm not using this as an excuse, I rode my heart out yesterday and even if I was feeling 100% I couldn't have done anymore.

My health has taken a turn, the Rheumatoid has been flaring for 2 months now and I've managed ok but last night it turned for the worse and has started to attack my immune system badly and my lungs are being affected, all of which requires extensive treatment and hospital time; I hate being away from my animals so this kills me and I'm trying to convince the specialist to treat me at home without the measure of hospital.

So I'm taking time out from the saddle but I'm sure I'll be back soon when this flare up is controlled.

28th August 2018

I have been keeping a little secret for a few months now and I feel it is the right time to introduce a special stallion 'LUIS'.

A beautiful 16.2hh PRE approved breeding stallion.
Not only is this stallion incredibly noble looking, he also has an extensive and impressive performance background behind his name - shown at regional, national and international level from a youngster through to the stallion he is today.

3 times campaigned at ‘SICAB ‘ - the most prestigious and largest international horse event for the PRE horse, placing top 8 one year out of 32 stallions in his section, as a youngster he won Champion Young Male and Sub Champion Young Male at 2 national events in Spain. This will make him the only PRE stallion in Australia to have competed at SICAB, which is impressive and a sign of his quality as there is a certain qualifying level to achieve to be accepted to compete at SICAB.

This stallion is magnificent. There's no other words.
After 34 years of owning and growing up around the PRE horse - I know the breed very well and when I was on the search, I was looking for a particular stallion that ticked every box, if anything I was extremely ‘picky’ - I searched and turned away many!

Temperament is always #1 and he certainly has that! I was looking for a performance dressage horse, as we know my riding is very important to me but at the same time I needed to import a stallion of quality to provide mare owners in Australia the opportunity to breed to a quality PRE stallion with all the correct trimmings!! morphology, proven sire with offspring on the ground, high quality bloodlines (his dam is Calificado), correct movement and that proven performance record!

His bloodlines actually hold many of the worlds most renown PRE ancestors that shaped the PRE for dressage and who's names you will see in many of the Olympic & WEG PRE horses over the years.

He can be a professional show stallion for morphology, a dressage horse with a stunning passage, a kids riding horse (yes they put kids on him)…… and he’s broken to harness.

Each day I said to myself - out of all the horses I’ve seen - he's perfect... I bet something goes wrong - nope! He passed a very grueling vet check (I'm VERY specific) MANY xrays, suspensory scans, blood tests, swabs..... passed everything. I even had 2 Australian vets check and they were pleased.

It was meant to be.

My aim is to enjoy this boy and be out there supporting the breed I grew up with, adore, love and worked so so hard to put in the lime light for High Performance and dressage in Australia. I’ll be back! And I’ll be back with this boy kicking it in PSG and working my way up (he’ll teach me). Certainly will not be a stallion that I will be competing grade II para on, that I can assure you!

This week he leaves for the long trip to Germany to begin quarantine and then will fly out mid September!
Safe travels Luis

A big thank you to our beautiful family friend Viktoria for all her hard work helping me find this beautiful boy. Ever so professional, even through the heartache of losing her own PRE stallion Donoso, she was there to support and help me finalise things xxx Yeguada Vikinga Pre

28th August 2018

1st place in the Official Medium 4.3 and 2nd in the Official Medium 4.2, yesterday with Celere! Not only that but we had a PB score for the 4.2. A great step up towards NSW State Dressage Championships this Sunday.

A big thank you to Alycia Targa (Millbank Equestrian) for all the recent lessons I've been having, certainly seeing a difference.

If anyone wants to know how amazing this Lusitano stallion is and his temperament... let me tell you a short story from yesterday....

I'm casually tacking up Celere and playing with Benji, with a good 40mins before my tests, Celere had his vibrating iceboots on just munching grass and Michael look at me, pale as if he'd seen a ghost 'VIC YOUR TEST IS IN 8 MINS!!!!!!' (I did my time schedule late at night and wrote it all out wrong lol)

O SUGAR! Thankfully I don't get stressed competing ... more pressure the better lol Love it!
No way was I going to miss it (I'm too proud to do that lol), iceboots off, jacket, helmet, boots on... and I'm thinking I always give Celere at least a 10min lunge before I get on him at competitions then a 20min warmup...
Calmly got on Celere who is probably thinking 'what the', by the time I made it to the warm up near the arena I had 2 mins... I trotted both ways and off we went into our test lol Thankfully his vibrating iceboots had warmed his legs up!!

Head high we entered the arena and bless him he knew it was show time, I could feel him pump his chest out and lower his hind, he got every change but was late behind in one, 7s for his trot half passes, charged in the medium and extended canters, a bit unbalanced in the lengthens but that was acceptable and we polished those up in the 4.3!

A stallion, no warm up, 100% with me from walking from the float, walking past mares/geldings and then straight into a medium test.

I trust him and have such a great connection with him...I would never have done what I did if I didn't, as I have to be a bit careful for obvious reasons

I adore this horse more than words can express!

Love this Portuguese stallion!

We had a great time yesterday at the AHAA Dressage day at SIEC. Celere and I had our 4th go at Official Medium placing 3rd and 6th out of a great line up horse & rider combinations. Also, being the highest scoring Lusitano horse on the day.

Highlight of the day was receiving 7s and a 7.5 for my flying changes, 7s for all canter work and seeing an improvement in my halfpass movements, still improvements to be made but we are certainly on the right track.

We received the sweetest comment from one judge on my test sheet "Brilliant honest and reliable gentleman of a horse" with a drawn love heart.

So nice to have the crew back together with Shae Herwig flying down for the week to visit! Couldn't stop her from doing groom duties though. Celere had the most beautiful plaits for the day.

A big thank you to the Andalusian Horse Association of NSW along with the committee, volunteers and sponsors for holding a wonderful well run and organised event.

Thanks Michael for the great photos

I wish to inform you all that BRAVOUR M (Spud) and I were not selected to represent Australia for WEG however, I am incredibly proud to have been ranked 3rd Australian para rider per the selection policy just behind two amazing Paralympians - Emma Booth and Sharon Jarvis.

As Sharon mentioned in her post which is so rightly true - it is just a shame that Australia for the first time has decided to not send a full team, as I believe us 3 ladies would have rocked it! But kudos to Emma and Zidane for representing Australia as Individuals.

I look back at my journey with Spud and smile - it has been quite amazing. It's just mind blowing to think I have only owned Spud for 10 months and we were competing in our first WEG selection event just after 3 months and scored 77.98% with an international judge coming over to me at presentation saying she had goosebumps watching my test. Just one highlight of my campaign.

After 30 years of riding wonderful PRE & Lusitano horses - I put my passion to the side which was VERY hard for me.
I had to put my long term Australian HP squad horse (PRE stallion Andaluka Elegido) on a long break and my Lusitano stallion I did manage to juggle to keep in work and campaign which I'm very proud to announce we qualified for NSW State dressage championships coming up soon.

I challenged my mind, my body and I decided to find a Warmblood... after 5 years of pressure to convert!
I can't thank the Welsh family enough for this opportunity of owning an imported KWPN!

I have laughed, I have cried, I have clenched my teeth and said repeatably to myself 'this must be a warmblood thing, it has to be'!!!! You really are a quirky horse Spud, with amazing talent and geez the fan club that came with you.... I think you're more known than I am! As much as he keeps me on my toes I do feel he adores me...Even the breeder in the Netherlands warned me watch his teeth!!..... but his game is to lick me ... and lick me... and lick me just a bit more lol.

The one thing with High Performance, especially at elite level - It takes enormous commitment, courage, a very strong back bone and an army of supporters.

I would like to take the time to thank Charlie Welsh, Carolyn Welsh and David Shavin (the previous owners of Spud), my amazing husband Michael Koch, wonderful groom Shae Herwig, my parents, friends, followers and sponsors for being there for me every step of the way.

You all know me... another goal, another chapter, another smile and hey as long as I'm still in that saddle.... that's gold for me xx

Bravour M "Spuddy"
Photos from the past few days at our last WEG selection event for this campaign. So proud of Spud!!!!!!!

Under terrible windy conditions on days 1 & 2 with arenas falling down, plastic bags flying in front of us and arenas rolling into us and judges stopping our test- he kept me safe at all times and completed 2 calm consistent tests showing everyone how reliable he can be with anything thrown his way. 70.09% on the first day and on the 2nd day 67.92% ending up with FEI Grade II Champion.

We ended on a personal high dancing away to our freestyle where he continued to be a dude in the SIEC indoor which he had not competed in prior to yesterday, sadly scores were low however, I was over the moon with Spud and finished with a huge smile on my face!!

Now we wait and see if what we've done the past 8 months is enough

25th June 2018

Great day spent yesterday competing CELERE in our 2nd start at official medium 2 third places and scores over 60% a few 7.5s and even an 8 in some of our movements, sadly a few breaks from canter to trot did cost us, but overall super happy as we can certainly tidy up those little mistakes for the future.

Celere was very well behaved as usual and lots of 'omg look at the gold horse!'

For those that aren't aware ...
Yes, para riders do and are able to compete open dressage not just in Australia but all over the world.

Competing open at official medium level for any grade II para rider is very testing; for myself I have very minimal use of my legs, i can move them but I have no strength, so movements such as halfpass, pirouettes, shoulder-in are mostly achieved by moving my weight and my voice. I am able to and I used to use 2 crops however, my hands are more affected so I do lose my reins a lot without knowing and having a another crop is just another thing to think about! as a para I can have my crops secured with velcro to my hands however, I'm not a fan of compensating aids.

As a grade II para rider competing open I am allowed to use my voice to help guide my horses which is the only compensating aid I use these days.

Why do I love competing open against riders with no disability?

I love competing and we don't really have that many para competitions locally in Australia, we only have our FEI para tests held at major events so competing open is a great way to expose my horses to a competition environment, I also proudly support the PRE and Lusitano breed and the more the breed is seen out and about the more exposure there is, I guess the biggest positive to competing open... it challenges me to keep pushing my mind and body!

As an FEI para grade II rider I am the 2nd lowest classified grade which means I am in the 2nd most sever disability grade; the grades range from 1 (most disabled) to 5 (least disabled). I am graded to suit my disability, strength, balance (pain in not taken into account!). To give you an example the FEI grade II tests consist of about 60% walk and 40% trot with walk leg yields, so you can see the big difference between an FEI grade II test and a medium test.

The final team selection will be announced on or before 26th July.

This has not been an easy campaign for me as I had to learn to ride a very quirky warmblood after 30 years of only riding the PRE breed.

It took my body months to adjust to the different movement, the size, the everything ...the tears, the pain, I couldn't even sit to his big movement for 2 months!!

A beautiful 9 week old Cocker Spaniel that has come into my life and healed my heart... good timing after the sad news last week.

For the past year Michael and I had spoken about getting a companion therapy dog to help me through difficult times and be by my side where ever I go! especially for specialist appointments and be there when I come out of my MRI scans, all of which I absolutely hate as where I am with my health these days it all leads to bad news. I have a very support husband however, we all know my animals heal me. As soon as I get home from an appointment or treatment - I need my animals.

We collected Benji from a beautiful breeder locally. I researched all breeds for months and couldn't decide... then my dad said to me over the weekend 'what about a Cocker Spaniel, you had one growing up as a baby'... the decision was made! I guess like buying a horse temperament is #1 for me and I adored Benji's mum, so it was quite easy to fall in love with Benji especially when he escaped through the puppy fence and ran straight over to see me the first time I met him.

Our German Shepherd kids adore him, especially our former rescue girl Heidi. He's a bold little guy and loves playing with them!

Hope you all enjoy the photos, I'm sure there will be quite a lot of puppy spam as Benji grows and continues his training.

A great start to the day receiving photos of my beautiful PRE mare Simpa (Simpatica XXVIII) from her first week of training.

A bit of a change in plan for my beautiful mare as she has started training with Jordan Evans for a few months as sadly Cody had an injury (not horse related).

Jordan is an amazing trainer and has great experience with the PRE and Lusitano breeds having spent many years in Europe training with very talented riders and horses. Also, she owns Oliver, the Lusitano colt by Celere that I bred.

The future is looking exciting!

Eddy... Andaluka Elegido!
He may be fat and unfit lol but after an 8 month holiday we've started 'project come back' since last weekend slowly building it up.... 7 days on and he doesn't stop after 10mins to tell me it's time to go in he seems very happy to be back in work and after he's little work out he goes back in his paddock, runs over talking his head off to his fellow stallion friend Celere to tell him which I assume is 'mum loves me more'!!!!!

Whilst he's always brought in, stabled at night and had plenty of attention, I've strongly missed my partnership under saddle with eddy... After all he did get me to where I am today.

I have sold one of my beautiful girls - Willtony Shakira.
Whilst I am sad that I am having to part with this gorgeous sweet mare who I have raised since a yearling, I am very fortunate to have found her a lovely home in NZ.

I strongly believe Shakira will be a wonderful asset to her new owners and to the growth in new bloodlines for the country.

I have Shakira here with me for a little longer until her planned flight in June. Her new owners are incredibly excited for her arrival!

I'll shed many tears when I do say goodbye. It's never easy letting go of one of your 'kids'. I'm not one to sell horses as they become part of the family however, this year I've let 2 go... having grown and come to peace that I need to make smarter decisions around my health which is deteriorating more aggressively lately and I must follow my true passion of riding whilst I am able.

I certainly look forward to following Shakira's new journey x

An amazing end to the SYDNEY CDI - International Dressage Event scoring 72.72% in the freestyle yesterday and awarded FEI Para Grade II Champion. Receiving a beautiful trophy rug sponsored by Commins Hendriks Solicitors and a voucher sponsored by the one and only Hygain Feeding Champions team.

Whilst the first day was a little rusty, we worked out a routine in our preparation and there was no stopping us! Only 7 months together, still figuring out what works best for us. This event showed Spud and I have really developed as a combination.

I was so pleased with his efforts! It's the little things we as riders feel with our horses - the connection, the relaxation the focus... You impressed me Spuddy:)...... even if you did show everyone your HUGE personality in the stable row.. there were a few laughs and people coming up and asking 'is your horse ok'... yes he is... he just likes wearing his haynet like a hat LOL

The highlight of this competition was certainly securing my 2nd compulsory WEG qualifying score! 2 more selection events left in Australia which I am hoping to attend and the aim will be to beat my personal scores.

I have quite a few people to say thank you to..

Hubby and groom Michael for all your support, love and help; Looking after both Spuddy and I superbly.

Kaitlin for jumping in last minute to house sit & look after the rest of the fur kids at home, couldn't have done this without you!

A big thank you to my wonderful support crew of family and friends AND facebook friends for coming out to see my tests and saying hello! It was so nice to meet some of my followers.

Thank you to all the volunteers, stewards, judges and organisers that made the SYDNEY CDI - International Dressage Event such an awesome event!

AND LASTLY... MY AMAZING SPONSORS! for all your outstanding support, guidance and making the Spudster and I look and feel our best x

It's not often I finish a test and have strangers cheer and whistle.... selectors cheer with 2 thumbs up... not often I walk out and go 'that was brilliant'! Then to have officials come up and go great job, beautiful test.

Spud 'had it' in that test- he was truly amazing!

Sadly, no international judges yesterday which I was concerned the day before my scores would not be strong. Always score higher with international judges....
In my opinion and others that watched the test, it was a low to mid 70% test. Easily.

I received 69.44%

Yes, WEG qualifying score secured, Yes great score. BUT it certainly did not receive the score that the test deserved which is very disappointing.

First day of competition was on Wednesday and sadly Spud showed some tension and broke into canter but very pleased to have an international judge score us individually over 69% for not such a strong test. Sadly, a 63% from the Australian judge crushed our overall score.

Tomorrow (Saturday) is the freestyle and I can't wait!! I'll be aiming high!

30th April 2018

Over the weekend Spud (Bravour M) and I attended the Australian Para High Performance Squad camp at the stunning Wallaby Hill. This was Spud's first camp and I have to say he was a star! Such a good boy over the 2 days that I attended.

I had 2 brilliant lessons with Angela Weiss from Great Britain - these lessons, I can't put into words how much Angela helped me in certain areas that I'm a bit rusty in. At the same time it really showed that the training I've been working on with my own coach Cody Wilson is certainly the right direction for Spud and I as a combination.

I also enjoyed the Human & Equine Biomechanics with Russell Guire (Centaur Russell) also from Great Britain. I found this truly fascinating and at the same time very pleased to know my Bliss of London saddle (Nikki Newcombe_ is perfect for Spud and was fitted well by Pam Davey! The data also showed I'm a balanced, straight rider lol WELL until I did leg yields (but we improved on that!). Spud had trackers on him which you can see in some of the photos, the data collected during our lessons transferred to a computer which showed Spuds way of going and if there were any areas of concern, happy to say Spud was even in his gaits; I can't wait to receive the whole report.

Spud and I were also seen and treated by a great Physiotherapist - Emma Mathlin. Emma has worked with the Australian Eventing team for many years so it was great to see her work her magic on Spud - which he LOVED!

A big thanks to Equestrian Australia for putting this amazing camp together (especially Stef Maraun & Erik Mackechnie-Guire)- certainly the best one I have been to in my career as a para rider.

NEXT STOP, we leave for SYDNEY CDI - the 3rd Australian Para qualifier for WEG.

Do you believe in miracles? I do!

Today marks 2 years ago since I found out about my neck. These photos were from the day after I was told by a neurosurgeon that I would die or be left a quadriplegic with or without high risk surgery. Riding was not an option. I withdrew from the European qualifiers for Rio and I missed out on the Sydney CDI. At the time I was preparing for the biggest fight of my life and I had to make decisions no one should ever have to make and I remember the overwhelming feeling of being powerless for the first time in my life.

I came home and taught Michael how to ride on my beautiful PRE stallion Eddy; I just wanted Michael to be happy and look after my beautiful horses. There's no words to describe the emotions that run through your mind when you're given such news. No where to escape or run to - you just have to face it.

I remember very clearly sitting quietly and all of a sudden thinking.... 'stop crying, don't sook, FIGHT, you've fought all your bloody life, don't let this stop you' it was like a tonne of bricks had hit me and I snapped out of my what seemed a shock coma. I hurried to my laptop and I wrote to 3 of the best neurosurgeons in the country begging them see me, within 24hrs I had replies, I guess as I was young, an Australian athlete and this was certainly a very rare case....... I was 'interesting'!!

Whilst the reality was very much true to what the first neurosurgeon said...I learnt after seeing 3 others that I had 'time'...how much - we never knew and we still don't know. No surgeon will say 'you need surgery now', it's purely my decision. Which really sucks!!!! I'm not a neurosurgeon, I don't have a crystal ball....... all I have is my gut feeling. Which 2 neurosurgeons told me - you have to go with your gut feeling on this.

For those who don't follow my story. I have Rheumatoid and this disease has done incredible damage to my body over the past 25 years. April 2016 an MRI detected that my C1 & C2 vertebrae are bone on bone and the ondontoid peg which in simple terms can be described as part of the spine that connects the spine to the skull has migrated into my head, piercing towards my brain currently missing it by something like 0.05mm and my brain stem is being crushed by the peg. As this is the area of the skull where the spinal cord passes through to the brain it means my spinal cord is in high risk. Surgery is high risk and it's only done if there is direct pressure on the spinal cord or life threatening symptoms are present.

I chose not to have the surgery for now and I was guided by an incredible neurosurgeon suggesting that we 'monitor' things until there's signs of further migration, new pressure on the spinal cord or my symptoms worsen and by that it means my swallowing and breathing is affected. With further investigation it was also found that my C1 & C2 had actually naturally fused themselves together which is somewhat a miracle as it's stabilized the neck.

I do ride my horses.
I remember asking my neurosurgeon.... 'so, can I ride?'
He must have thought I was a complete idiot! but no... he smiled and said 'yes you can....for your quality of life and your mental health, yes... BUT know the risks and don't take unnecessary ones'. I remember Michael's smile pretty much lit up the room lol he wanted me back on the horses the next day.... me.... I was scared and I was questioning my decisions but I did get on the next day but it took a few months to accept my new life.

Last week I was told - if I feel fine than my neurosurgeon doesn't want an MRI until the end of the year which will be 18months!!!!! which is a progression from my regular 6-months!

2 years on... I ride each day and.... I fight each day. I've had to make some big changes as you've all recently seen but hey at least I'm here and still riding!!

It's one week from the Sydney CDI which is the 3rd WEG qualifier and I will be riding with all my heart and I will be riding proud. It's been one hell of a ride... The medical gurus say they don't know how I do it...

Well I guess its a miracle

22nd April 2018

Good boy Spuddy (Bravour M) for putting a smile back on my face and reminding me why I ride and push on. As soon as I put my foot in the stirrup - I was free... it was competition time!

After a very emotional 24hrs after saying goodbye to my Sammy, I put my game face on and continued my preparation for the 3rd Australian WEG qualifier which is only 10 days away.

Michael always says to me 'no matter what happens, you have to keep going' and I did.

Spuddy worked beautiful and made me laugh with his funny antics, which I certainly needed! He was just a super good boy! and it was a really enjoyable day.

Most importantly we received great scores by a well respected A level judge in our 2 FEI Grade II tests!!!! a 71.02% and 71.81% I was the only para riding so I won lol but today was more about getting Spuddy out and using a 20x40 competition arena.

A HUGE thank you to Shoalhaven Dressage Club for holding my FEI para tests and an even bigger thank you to the volunteers that helped change the arena to a 20x40 and back again to a 20x60! Fiddly job but meant the world to me!!!!

21st April 2018

Goodbye my friend xx

It is with a very heavy heart and many days of tears that I say goodbye to my special friend, Sam (Hanna Poderoso), a beautiful 7yo PRE stallion I have owned and raised since a foal.

I finally found the home for 'My Sammy' which I believe and in my gut can feel he will be loved, very well looked after and he will be happy.

For many years I've painfully had Sam up for sale, then taken him down or told people that were interested.... I just can't sell - I'm sorry. I've also heard the cruel 'gossip' that something is wrong with him.. 'why hasn't he sold?' well... unless you have a disease and condition that is terminal and tries to steal your hopes and dreams... you will never understand. There was and isn't anything wrong with this beautiful boy.

A large part of me was holding on as long as I could in 'hope'... that one day I may get a bit better and all the goals and dreams I had for Sam and I would come true... and a reason why I saw selling him as a sign of giving up and defeat.

Reality is - many elements of my life have changed and things I would once manage to do with struggle are now becoming impossible. I've also lost a bit of my passion. The mental struggle of watching a very talented stallion not doing anything after all the time, money and training put into him... it hurts, it hurts so much, when your body says no and your mind says just try a bit more. I AM a competition rider and riding is my passion. I am not one to just have a stallion to sit in a paddock and breed which is fine for others but not how I do things. I love for my horses to enjoy their work, have fun, have a job...

It took me a long time to find peace with my decision and I shocked many loved ones when I said 'I've sold Sam'.

I just want to say I am so proud of the horse I created and how talented and well mannered he is because of my training and care over the 7 years, he makes me so proud and I'm very happy to see him go to his new home where he will live on a big cattle farm, have fun with his new owner rounding up cattle, going to the odd clinic and continue to be a great breeding stallion.

An end of a beautiful journey for me and my Sammy xx

Great competition day with Spuddy (Bravour M) yesterday!

I was so impressed by how he carried himself in the arena yesterday - a huge improvement from 2 months ago at Boneo.
Yesterday he was calm, in a snaffle bridle, no crop, no spurs, just used my voice and aids. I was even thinking to myself mid test 'gee this feels good' (lol).

We scored 67.72% and 68.84% which was a little disappointing as I was aiming for scores in the 70s but they were both calm, forward and accurate tests, huge improvement with the walk. Wasn't a usual judge for para but the feedback was helpful! Will continue on this path as Spud is such a happier horse and getting the idea of these walk/trot para tests and that I'm not going to ask for passage out of the blue lol

For those that have expressed much interest in purebred offspring by Celere - Due to my health and commitments to my riding, we only produce 1 foal every 1-2 years but feel free to express your interest; the next foal with be a full sibling to 'Oliver' and due 2019.

So proud of Celere!!!
Yesterday we had our first competition back together in 5 months and our first attempt at Official Medium.

In the Official Medium 4.1 we placed 2nd out of a strong field of 13 with a score of 63.96% with one judge scoring us 66.39% Sadly in the 4.2 we over tried so not the best score bless him.. so a few costly mistakes but 100% for effort.

As always Celere was incredibly well behaved and loved his outing, even after a full season of breeding he was 100% with me.

Massive thank you to Hawkesbury Dressage Club Inc. for holding a great competition and organising my para paperwork for the judges, that was a huge help!

12th FEBRUARY 2018

I am proud to announce I am part of a very special team, flying the Australian flag as a sponsored rider for BLISS OF LONDON - Saddle makers of distinction

Also, now a sponsored rider for Horseland Geelong/Horseland Lilydale and Olympic Saddlery!

For many months team Bliss, Chantal Brattle from Horseland and Pam Davey from Olympic Saddlery have all kept this project a secret whilst we came together to design a beautiful saddle to suit both my Imported Lusitano stallion CELERE and Imported KWPN gelding BRAVOUR M.

Some would question, how could a saddle fit a 16.2hh Warmblood and a 15.2hh Lusitano... well believe it or not, as we found during sizing they are very similar and the saddle fits amazingly well. A big thank you to Horseland for coming out and sizing my 2 boys and Pam from Olympic Saddlery for delivering and making the final fitting - no changes were needed to the saddle, the fit was perfect.

I went with the model 'Paramour Dressage' as the mono-flap design intrigued me, I've never ridden in a mono before so I was eager to try this design as it claims to deliver closer contact for a more intimacy connection between horse and rider - I have to say i will never go back to a non mono-flap design ever!

I had been riding in a particular brand of saddle for over 20 years and whilst I'm very used to my body changing due to my Rheumatoid condition, multiple joint replacements and fusions, I did feel it was time for a change when I developed neurological symptoms from a serious neck and spinal condition.

It really gave a clear insight at how important it is to have not only an emotional connection but also a physical connection with my horses and since riding in my new Paramour Dressage saddle with mono-flaps I do feel this has helped substantially; whilst my feeling is limited in my legs I do find having less 'saddle' between myself and the horse creates a better feel and connection.

For colour, there was no doubt in my mind of how I envisioned my saddle! Black with tan edging, tan stitching and finished off with a beautiful quilted back panel. Very elegant and looks stunning on Celere! Oh and a nutbuck seat for extra grip.

I know the big question from my Iberian followers will be - how does the Paramour Dressage fit on my Iberians (PRE/Andalusians/Lusitano)? I have to say the fit is great and my sizing is 17.5 wide. If you are searching for a new saddle especially for the Iberians, make sure you contact Bliss directly or Chantal at Horseland.

Nikki, CEO for Bliss of London) I can't thank you enough for your generosity and entrusting me as one of your sponsored riders!

Boneo CPEDI 3* sure wasn't our competition.

On the first day of competition Spuddy didn't feel right and our test wasn't as good as I'd hoped however, we came out on top taking out first place!

Second day of competition confirmed something was not right!

Unfortunately, Spuddy got his tongue over the bit which led to a very difficult ride; I believe I did well with what little contact I had to control him and the pressure it was having on my body.

I completed my test however, suffered 4 error of course where I had to correct him for my own safety. Our warmup was beautiful which the video shows..... it's just a big shame that this event wasn't ours.

This elimination means I do not get to ride my freestyle tomorrow however, we'll get home and be out again for the next WEG qualifier in May. Wont give up!

I do want to thank the support (i wont mention names, you know who you are if you're reading this) that were there to guide me and help me through this difficult day.

We had our beautiful dogs with us, we had photos taken with our 2 stallions Eddy and Celere... who I have to say loved trying to eat my bouquet lol my very pregnant mare Vigia that wanted to be part of the photos (we honestly thought she was going to give birth the night before!) and of course whats a wedding without going to the beach with a storm brewing in the background.

Living in a small community all my life, you can't but help create beautiful friendships and it was so nice to have people like Pip & Hugh from Hugh Palmer Clothing For Men help us with finding the perfect suit for Michael xx

Now this is a very special thank you to an amazing person; my gorgeous flowers were absolutely stunning and created by the very talented Sharlene of The Wildflower Studio who I have to say helped so much she brought tears to my eyes, she delivered the flowers whilst I was getting my hair done I came back to everything setup... garden, signing table, cake.. wow, such a beautiful person.

Thank you so much to Belinda of Bel-lissima Cakes for creating a stunning cake very last minute! It looked amazing and the taste... wow!

MEMORIES!... Our photographer ... the very talented, super cool lad 'Pete' of Peter Izzard Photography!!!!
I can't wait to see the professional photos lol BUT I will learn patience lol. My horses and dogs adored Pete and so did we and I can't wait to get more photos captured in the future x

I have very long hair but for my special day I went with a beautiful elegant up do created by Jess of His & hers spirals hairstylists

and lastly Paul Greer - Celebrant, our amazing celebrant for the day. I admit I may have forgotten my words.... and how to speak as I was giggling too much HAHAHA! ever so grateful for helping us with our vows, reminding us to breath and helping us with all the paperwork xx

I will certainly share the professional photos when they arrive, until then, I hope you all enjoy these special photos.

Another chapter of an amazing story we call life xx

x RIP Miguel Tavora x

"Every person you meet has a story to tell, a lesson to teach and a dream to share".

Today we say goodbye to an incredible kind man, Miguel Tavora. A brilliant horseman but I will forever remember him as the man that gave me strength when I was far from strong.

Not long after my devastating diagnosis last year I decided I would take myself to a lesson off the property to help my confidence. I remember being anxious with a lot of 'what if's' running through my mind ... Miguel was patient, he was kind and he smiled a lot that day. I did not talk about my diagnosis but he knew, someone had kindly told him I was not my usual bold self.

I remember after my lesson we crossed paths at the stables as I was about to go home and he said 'Be brave. You are stronger than what you think, just ride, don't think'

I've never forgotten those words and I will be forever thankful for my last lesson with Miguel on that day. "Be brave" xx

9th DECEMBER 2017

This morning Spuddy and I rode our FEI Para Grade II Freestyle for an impressive 77.98% with one judge scoring us 82% (86.60% artistic) a great way to end the first WEG qualifier event.

Such nice feedback from the international judge and one of the Australian judges saying they both had goosebumps watching our test.

Over the 3 days of competition we won all 3 tests for our grade and today was awarded 'Overall FEI Para Equestrian Champion' across the 5 grades for the Victorian Dressage Festival.

I'm so proud of Spuddy and my small team that got us where we are today - Groom/Partner Michael We DID IT! Hard work is paying off!

Thank you to everyone that came up and said hello (as they know Spuddy lol) he certainly has his own fan club from when we was owned by the Welsh family. He's such a special horse and in 3 months he's taken me so far... and it's just the beginning!

A big thank you to my amazing sponsors for all their support and making Spuddy and I feel and look our best

Spuddy (Bravour M) did it again, taking home another rug and wonderful prizes.

We were named 'Overall FEI Para Equestrian CHAMPION' across the grades at the DNSW Clarendon Winter Festival 2017.

Over the 2 days our scores were 69.34% Team Test and 70.44% Individual Test and a super score of 76.66% (78% for artistic) for our freestyle... I stepped away from tradition and gave the judge something 'electric'.

A big thank you to the sponsors of the event Dressage NSW, The Mobile GG Spot and ASL Equestrian - the prizes were amazing!

Also a big thank you and congratulations to DNSW and volunteers for holding such a fantastic event.

8th NOVEMEBER 2017

Very proud of my Lusitano and Spanish PRE stallions tonight as I have been selected on the

'Australian High Performance Green Squad (AIS Athlete - Podium Potential) for Para Equestrian'

Without my scores and consistent improvement with Andaluka Elegido, Celere and Hanna Poderoso I wouldn't be where I am today.

April last year I was told I should never ride again and everything was so uncertain; now I am stronger than ever and bursting with excitement to compete at the upcoming WEG qualifiers with my new mount Bravour M (Spud).

5th NOVEMEBER 2017

Words can't express the excitement I had riding down the centreline yesterday with Spuddy - our first FEI Para tests together!

We cracked the 70% mark with 70.75% ... only 3.36% from our WEG target score - Loved the 9 we received!

Spud did extremely well in testing conditions...he dealt with rain, being the only horse left in warm up and during his tests, horses and people walking behind the bushes lol but despite all that I'm super happy as I know we'll grow stronger together with more competitions!

Big thank you to Hawkesbury Dressage Club Inc. for holding my para tests, the experience this gave us was amazing and a huge help towards preparing Spud for the WEG qualifiers coming up.

29th OCTOBER 2017

Yesterday was a bit of a surprise!
I went to the Shoalhaven Dressage Club Championship day with no real expectations as it was my first competition with Spud (Bravour M) and we came home with

72% Prep C
74.60% Prep D
Members Prep Champion
Highest % of the competition
Shoalhaven Dressage Club Supreme Champion

Absolutely means the world to me as it's been HARD WORK but what I know all too well... if you want success, you need to work for it! this is just a stepping stone to where I want to be... WEG!

I've owned Spud just over a month now and it's been an amazing journey so far, he's a wonderful horse but my body is not used to riding a Warmblood lol!! It took a few weeks for the body to adjust to the different movement and size, I persevered through the pain and now I feel like I've ridden Spud all my life.

I have just a few people to thank

SUPER GROOM & AMAZING PARTNER - MICHAEL

Carolyn & Charlie Welsh for entrusting me with Spud! I hope you are both proud at how he's turned out to be a super 'Para Pony', he truly is a special horse!

A huge thank you and congratulations to Shoalhaven Dressage Club for running an amazing Championship event, very well organised, a great turnout and the presentation with all the awards was great and the wine certainly went down well!

Thank you to The Flagstaff Group for sponsoring the beautiful trophy rug and award for Members Prep Champion.
A fantastic organisation that helps to achieve increased independence, employment opportunities and integration into the community for people with disabilities.

Another big thank you to Bishops South Nowra for sponsoring the SDC Supreme Champion!

SEPTEMBER 2017

Introducing my new horse 'SPUD'... Spuddy, Mash, Potato :)

Still pinching myself that I have this amazing horse in my stables and now I can officially call him mine.

The past few weeks I've had the absolute privileged to trial Spud and I can't thank Carolyn and Charlie Welsh enough for their amazing kindness, it's so rare that you see this these days!
Not just kindness either but also understanding towards my very difficult and different circumstances.

With all my joint replacements, on going health issues and my serious neck diagnosis last year it was absolutely paramount that the 'Warmblood' I was to purchase had to tick all boxes, not just 9/10 but 10/10! This wasn't me saying this it was my coach of 7 years Jim lol the tough critic that he is.

I found Carolyn's stud website and thought wow she has some really nice stock lets see if they have anything undersaddle for sale; my email explained about my health, my goals and just a general overview of the horse I was after. Spud was never really for sale as he was a much loved member of the family but Carolyn felt he would be perfect for my needs.

Spud was imported from the Netherlands 3 years ago, is trained to GP with the most amazing passage! stands at 16.2hh and is even broken to harness which I joke that in a few years IF I can't ride, Spuddy and I can do harness classes:) But for now he has a killer trot, a beautiful walk and the perfect FEI para mount.

My first test ride was wow, what a horse. I was offered a trial which was so kind and thoughtful!! I really didn't expect it but Carolyn insisted that we had to all make sure Spud was right for me and I was right for Spud

I keep saying 'Warmblood' as this breed is so new to me, I've only ridden one other Warmblood (a mare out of Donnerhall, yes I'm learning the bloodlines!) and that was in England, my whole 30 year riding career has been riding the PRE & Lusitano horses, so the build and movement of the Warmblood is so different - no one knew how my body would cope.

The past few weeks have flown by and we can't fault Spud, I completely adore the lad and his personality.

Don't worry I'm still riding and campaigning my PRE & Lusitano stallions, no doubt about that but finding the right Warmblood has always been in the back of my mind, a quiet goal and the fact he's GP trained.. I can learn from this and enhance my skills. The ultimate goal will be to qualify for Tokyo 2020 and I truly believe he's the horse to get me there but for the moment we will continue to develop a strong bond and do some open dressage days.

Thanks again Carolyn and Charlie for entrusting me with your special boy xx

Stunning photos of my 2 stallions Andaluka Elegido & Celere from my favorite photographer Stephen Mowbray Photography.

Thank you Stephen for your on going support of all Australian Para riders... you have an amazing way of capturing our abilities, our passion for our sport, love for our horses and the support and team work that goes on behind the scenes.

Stephen has kindly presented photos of all NSW Para riders in celebration of the NSW Para Equestrian Dressage Futures Program.

This amazing new program will be funded by Ernst & Young through the Australian Sports Foundation, for three years and will create a pathway for riders like myself with disabilities to obtain the training and support we need to enable us to progress onto Australian squads and ultimately to represent Australia in Para Dressage at international competitions including the Paralympic and World Equestrian Games.

A huge thank you to EY for your amazing support and it was lovely to meet you Alison Cairns and your team.

SEPTEMBER 2017

NSW State Dressage Championships over for another year and my PRE Spanish stallion

'Eddy' (Andaluka Elegido) holds his title as Champion for our para grade for the 5th consecutive year

Both my boys were amazing. Eddy did an amazing freestyle scoring 72% by one judge for artistic, which I went out of my comfort zone and did something different... Paint it Black by The Rolling Stones... with a twist of Spanish (of course).

Lusitano stallion Celere really tried his heart out and I honestly thought he did better than Eddy; we scored a personal best by one judge with 67.58% with very nice comments but just couldn't catch Eddy. Love my little friend.

I couldn't have done these States without the on going help and support of Michael. It has been a rough few weeks as I was nearly admitted to hospital 4 days prior to leaving for States with suspected pneumonia... but with a 4th course of antibiotics I picked up dramatically and there was nothing stopping me!

I also had an amazing groom come to help! wow!! why haven't I had an extra groom before LOL!! Where has she been the past 7 years! Shae Herwig... you did a phenomenal job of looking after my boys and making sure everything ran to schedule! I did 4 tests in one day with only 30-40min gaps.... we were running but my team did an amazing job and we never missed a beat. I do think we ate our body weight in chocolate.

As always a big thank you to my sponsors Hygain Feeding Champions , Technyflex - Premium Joint Supplement and Platinum Pony. We received so many comments over the weekend at how amazing the boys looked and it's all down to the quality products I use and of course all the love they receive.

AUGUST 2017

Super weekend with the 3 stallions. Love my boys!

12yo PRE grey stallion EDDY (Andaluka Elegido) enjoyed an outing at the Shoalhaven Dressage Club protocol day and felt amazing having a few hand gallops around the grounds.

Imported buckskin Lusitano stallion CELERE and I competed in the Official Novice 2.2 to place 5th with 65.71% we hanged around for our second test BUT the heavens opened and I decided to scratch and go home to my heater lol I'm on antibiotics with a chest injection and didn't want to make it worse getting soaked with State Dressage Championships in a few days! Like always Celere was such a dude to take out and tried his little heart out for me.

AUGUST 2017

I had a lovely birthday today with loved ones and special animals. Over the weekend there were a few laughs with the 3 stallions.

Here is a photo photos the golden boy Celere... Mr twinkle toes brought a smile to my face at how 'angelic' he goes over trot poles and LOVED dancing between the tall poles cantering and doing changes between them.

I really am enjoying mixing up my training!

I also test rode a stunning beautiful Warmblood ... yes a Warmblood and what a beautiful boy he was with amazing owners, a truly special weekend that brought a lot of smiles and laughs.

JULY 2017

"Well at least we looked good"

Yesterday's competition didn't go as planned and I could write every excuse there is, but truth is the body is changing and the challenges are getting more testing. I've always shared the good and the bad so we can just put this down to 'listen to your body'.

If I focus on the positives I have to say... What a great horse I have in Celere, he was amazing and looked after me so well. Bless him. The fact I've been told numerous times the past year I shouldn't be riding... AND I AM pretty much speaks for it's self!

Living with Rheumatoid (RA) I've developed a tolerance to pain like no other, hell I've been known to walk around and ride with a broken leg, gone about my days with a dislocated rib and not known for weeks, so when I woke up yesterday morning in excruciating pain I should have listened to my body and given the competition a miss; the thing is I love competing and I was not going to let my body stop me. I am on a cocktail of medications to control the Rheumatoid however, it's very rare I'll take pain killers as I just don't like them but I had to yesterday (I have FEI approval to use them if need be).

Bad move.
I had 2 of my para equestrian friends from overseas say to me last night 'Ah yeah Vic that happened to me at such and such competition'!! It happens to us all - take pain killers and you WILL forgot your test lol never again.

Short version of the story, my ankle locked (somewhat like a dislocation) in the first test, I did grit my teeth and finished placing 9th out of 16 which was OK. Michael managed to massage my foot and release some of the pressure in our break but during my 2nd test I could feel the pain creep up..... forgot where I was going lol corrected myself and then snap, foot went again and I forgot again where I was going so I just retired. The judge was so sweet and she really wanted me to finish as Celere was going beautiful.

Obviously, I wanted off Celere ... BUT... like most things going wrong that day my scooter battery died (of all the days). So Celere walked me all the way from the arena's to the parking area which is a very long way and he did it like a perfect angel and stood still while I got off. This was the first time he has been put in a position where I'm not in control and times are tense and he took it all in his stride. A testament to his temperament and trust in Michael and I.

I've competed every weekend for months so I'm taking 2 days off and also this weekend, see if I can calm this flare up down.

So this happened today;
I rode my imported mare Simpa (Simpatica XXVIII)!!

Only 4 months under saddle.

Gee it felt very different riding this girl that is a totally different build, tall and bigger moving than the stallions. I haven't ridden a mare in years!

Definitely out of my comfort zone but I'm excited for our riding career together.

** SO PROUD **
Promoting the Lusitano breed in true form this weekend!

CELERE (Estoiro x Noz) and Michael took out Champion Led Other Breeds and then went on to win Supreme against 8 other breed champions (Arabian, Warmblood, Stockhorse etc). Also winning Buckskin Led Stallion and Reserve Champion Led Buckskin.

Not bad for his first Australian led competition!

This was all new to Celere and he took it all in his stride running out like a star and was pretty well behaved in such an electric atmosphere lining up close next to mares.

He certainly turned heads with many people coming up to us falling in love with him and asking what breed he was.
The judge also had great comments and loved his strong bone structure.

Big thank you to Bishops South Nowra for sponsoring this class and Shoalhaven All Breeds for holding a great event.

MAY 2017

Michael and I had a very early 4am start and took Celere to Hawkesbury Dressage Club Championships.

Celere & I scored 68.25% in the official 1.3 placing 5th out of 12, lost a canter lead but was a great test!

In the official 1.2 we scored 64.23% and placed 6th out of 17... which I have to admit I didn't warm-up for! Both Celere and I had no energy ... so we just chilled under a tree for 30mins and literally walked to the arena and into the test we went (I usually wouldn't do this, but I listen to my body more these days) 'Obviously' we lacked energy but lovely comments from the judge saying Celere and I had great harmony.

Not bad for our 2nd competition! Very proud that we held our own against some talented riders and horses in open company.

Big thank you to Hawkesbury Dressage Club for holding an awesome Championships and well done to the rider who won the Preliminary Championship rug Michael and I sponsored under Tora V Dressage - PRE & Lusitano.

APRIL 2017

SYDNEY CDI 2017

Eddy (Andaluka Elegido) was a star looking after me during today's freestyle as I had a shocking migraine with bad vertigo and paralysis but I was not going to quit! I've never been so determined to finish a test and I'm glad I did as we scored 70.39% and yesterday during the Individual test we scored over 70% by 2 judges, so we are constantly improving.

Celere was amazing! This was his first competition in a year and his first competition in Australia so he was thrown in the deep end.
He tried his little heart out. Sadly I brought his score down with a silly error of course and he was distracted by a lose dog in the distance which made his walk tense but we still received 66.91% from 2 judges with great comments stating exciting team for the future. Overall impeccably behaved and I loved every minute showing him off.

Overall Eddy was awarded FEI Para Equestrian Grade II Champion and Celere FEI Para Equestrian Grade II Reserve Champion.

A massive thank you to everyone that made SYDNEY CDI - International Dressage Event an amazing competition and Commins Hendriks Solicitors for sponsoring the Para Equestrian events.

FEBRUARY 2017

Andaluka Elegido 'Eddy' - you can't fault this stallion! Every outing is always super fun and easy with him. He keeps me safe. We hadn't been out since the Australian Dressage Nationals in October 2016 so it was good to have a no pressure day but we tried to do our best!

The new FEI tests released January 2017 I have to say whilst they are more challenging which I love... they do have a lot of elements to remember so the brain had a bit of a workout but we finished 2 clean tests with lots of 7.5s and an 8. A few improvements needed in areas but that will come with getting more confident with the tests I'm sure!

Bit of an update on my neck - Yup coming up a year in April since I was diagnosed.
3 days before this competition I received my yearly MRI results on my neck, well actually it was brought forward 2 months due to new symptoms scaring me to death so it's been a bit of an anxious wait.

Good news - there has been no further migration of the Odontoid peg into the skull and the neck continues to be stable which is fantastic news and the spinal cord, whilst its risky... is still OK!

Unfortunately the symptoms I'm receiving is from crowding in my head with the spine migrating into the skull pressing on the brain stem, tonsils and something else that consists of a million letters! I have no 'signal loss' so this is very good news but I get terrible pressure surrounding my whole head now which feels like the hulk crushing my head with 2 hands (not like I've ever met the hulk or the hulk is real?) I do get some relief from physio, massage, red light and my beloved heat pack! Not much can be done to release the pressure except surgery which like the other surgery is high risk so whilst I'm having no signal loss and the pain isn't out of control, I'll make do.

The scan also detected the C6 and C7 are deteriorated now and 'poking' towards the spinal cord, this isn't good news at all and something also to monitor. Rheumatoid's fault! See neurosurgeon in March for a chat.

So I'll take good news where I can and take the bad news as it comes, working out ways to keep on keeping on and YES I'm still riding 5-6 days a week.

ARMAS TARUGO is, possibly, one of the best and most complete PRE known today; In terms of Morphology, Movement, and Character. In 2007, he was Champion of Functionality at every competition he entered, and he was awarded Functionality Champion of Spain in that same year. 2009, he won the Champion Stallion (CAMPEÓN de LA RAZA) and Champion of Functionality in Jerez.

His offspring in Spain have excelled in the breed ring as well as dressage, including his son "Montes II", who was two year old Champion and Reserve Champion Young Horse of Spain. Armas Tarugo was purchased by Yeguada San Francisco in 2010 and he moved to Mexico, where later that year he was declared Champion Stallion and Absolute Champion of Functionality at Anccemex 2010.

DECEMBER 2016

Shakira had a scan this morning confirming she's in foal to Sam (Hanna Poderoso). First attempt so I'm super happy!

Yes, i predict a filly. Very excited for this foal...great combination of world class PRE dressage lines, height, confirmation, performance and the most important element to me...the temperaments of Sam and Shakira are impeccable so cant wait to meet this little one end of 2017

Both SHAKIRA's sire & dam were bred and imported from one of the oldest and most highly regarded PRE studs; 'The Candau family' have been breeders of the classic Pura Raza Española horse in Spain for 6 generations and were recently named 'Best Dressage Breeder at SICAB 2016.

HANNA PODEROSO holds very impressive dressage genetics; sharing some of his genetics with PRE stallion Olympic sensation FUEGO DE CARDENAS via his sire line. He also shares genetics with UBIO, the first ever PRE stallion licensed for a German Warmblood Studbook, and ILLES, who is one the dressage mounts of Victor Alvarez.

2nd DECEMBER 2016

HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY SAMMY (Hanna Poderoso)!! I hope you liked your present this morning and I hope you're a dad next year!

I can't believe you are 6 today! I saw you as a foal and had this crazy idea of buying you, turning you into a dressage horse, a para horse and a breeding stallion. Accomplished. I can't wait for our next adventures.

x Thanks for the laughs my friend.

OCTOBER 2016

Amazing competition at Australian Dressage Championships!

Eddy (Andaluka Elegido) Australian Dressage FEI Para Equestrian Grade Ib Champion

Sam (Hanna Poderoso) Australian Dressage FEI Para Equestrian Grade Ib Reserve Champion

GO THE PREs!!!!!!!!!

Back in 2011 I purchased a 6 month old colt and imported him to Australia from NZ to be my future 'para horse', and I'm proud to say I've kept to my word. Sam (Hanna Poderoso) had his first start at FEI para at age 'nearly' 6... big ask for a young stallion as my grade requires a lot of walking but we did 2 clean, accurate tests, received great scores and a great individual score of 68.2 from a 4* judge with positive comments of Sam being a great prospect for the future and beautifully educated.

Sam came second to Eddy in all his tests and Mr. flamboyant Eddy won the blues with good scores. We also represented NSW in the teams and took home another blue.

Extremely happy and proud of my 2 PRE Spanish stallions who have been truly impeccably behaved.

BIG THANK YOU to TECHNYFLEX for sponsoring products for the FEI Para Equestrian Champions

SEPTEMBER 2016

NSW State Dressage Championships couldn't have gone any better! Andaluka Elegido (Eddy) and I walked away with overall 'NSW State Champion Para Equestrian Grade Ib' with some super scores...
FEI Team test - 71%
FEI Individual test - 71.90%
FEI Freestyle test - 74.67%

2013, 2014 and 2015 Eddy and I won the Grade II Championship so very pleased to continue my State title in a different grade which I was regraded into January 2016 due to my declined health.

It has only been 4 months since my withdrawal from Rio Paralympic European qualifiers and since i found out about my neck (agh the dreaded neck!)...so this was a hard competition, overcoming many new physical challenges and also a few 'what if' moments ... but it's where i belong... in the saddle!!

I wouldn't be in the position I'm at - health wise without my amazing physio Cat Croghan of Phyxit Physio who I see each week for treatment and of course... the neurosurgeons supporting my riding!

Michael - by my side the whole time, kicking my butt and being the amazing groom ever for our Eddy. He was literally speechless when he saw marks in the 80s for my freestyle :) I have a super little team!

Eddy - What a horse! my best mate. You leave me without words every time. I'm truly blessed to have you in my life, looking after me.

A huge thank you to my sponsors Hygain, Technyflex, Mobicosa and IPAC for your continued support over 4 years.

Lastly a big thank you must be made to the sponsors of the para awards Saddleworld Dural, Mitavite, Horse & Hound Specialist and Dural Saddleworld.
Also thank you to Dressage NSW, plus volunteers for an amazing well run event.

Now we start preparing for Nationals which is in 5 weeks time :)

AUGUST 2016

The end of a journey and the beginning of a new one!
After 2.5 years my beautiful CELERE has made it to his forever home - by my side here in Australia. It has been an emotional day for me. I've been lost for words. I spent most of the day sipping my moet just watching Celere peacefully eating grass and I do believe he was smiling. I can't thank Martin & Libby Greet enough for looking after my boy. What a superb job you have done; true friends forever in my heart. Looking at these photos you wouldn't even believe Celere had traveled the world, been in quarantine for over a month, had an 11hr haul from quarantine to our property and this is his first day out.

Big thank you to IRT England and IRT Australia for such a professional service of getting Celere to me safety in amazing condition from England to Australia. I cannot recommend their services enough and a special mention must be made to Amelia and Natalie for answering all my questions and emails 'hows my boy doing?'... pretty much every week lol!
Goldners - again wonderful service, road transporting Celere from Quarantine to our property via a 11hr journey (2 day travel). Very professional handling.

... and lastly - AN ENORMOUS THANK YOU to my friends, family and my internet friends/followers for all your support. It's been a challenging few months with my neck diagnosis and withdrawal from my Rio qualifier campaign... but you know what... I have gold... he's standing in my paddock :) xx

P.S in true Celere style he did have a roll in mud

JULY 2016

Fantastic outing today with young Sam (Hanna Poderoso) up at Sydney Dressage Club. Impeccably behaved in every sense of the word... I mean he was SUPER chilled! He placed 3rd in the Official Novice 2.2 with an awesome score of 69.78% - one judge scoring them 71.42! great effort out of a field of 15 horses. Lots of 8s for the canter movements, lengthen trots and paces :)

JULY 2016

Go Eddy!
First time riding the FEI Grade Ib tests since I was reclassified and I'm proud to say I achieved 2 smashing scores!! Winning both with 74% and 72.58% from an FEI PE 5* judge (retired). I also placed 10th in the Official Medium 4.1, it was a big field of talented horses and I was super happy with how Eddy and I performed within the mix. Big thank you to DNSW for holding para equestrian tests at their Clarendon events, it is a huge help to us para's and our sport

What an awesome day with the Spanish boys! A great lesson on Eddy (Andaluka Elegido) with Dr. Gill Rickard; some great exercises and tips to take home and work on towards our upcoming comps

I also took 5yo Sam (Hanna Poderoso) on his first outing in 14 months which was also our first ride off the property! Lost for words, he was focused and a super good boy

JULY 2016

This morning I received a lovely Get Well Soon card handwritten by Ann Sudmalis MP. Over the past few years Ann has followed my journey, always sending cards of congratulations filled with words of encouragement. I admit I don't 'do' politics haha it all goes over my head but when I receive a card from Ann I see her as a compassionate person and I have nothing but respect for that.

#‎ThankYou!

JUNE 2016

After weeks of uncertainty of whether i would ride again, I went out and competed in my first official Medium test. Lets be real... I made a complete mess of my first test and I threw my 1st place away with an error of course in the 2nd test....but I still had fun and did it!

In movements to the right I received some great scores of 8s and 7.5s which I'm really proud of, shows our potential... movements to the left i scored not so good, which is expected as this is the side my neuro symptoms are the worse BUT I'm not going to use that as an excuse... back in the arena Tuesday and practice practice practice. But what a special boy my Eddy is, he never lets me down and truly tries his heart out x

JUNE 2016

Yesterday I attended the Miguel Tavora clinic with Eddy (Andaluka Elegido). I think this quote goes perfectly "Two feet move your body, 4 feet move your soul".

Miguel helped me overcome a few confidence issues I was having with the half pass to the left (nothing wrong with it lol was all in my head!) and we worked on getting Eddy more active in the flying changes. I certainly had a smile on my face and a boost to my confidence, which was nice as it's been a tough few months as you all know.

I'm now looking forward to this weekend where Eddy and I will be competing in the Official Medium 4.2 and 4.3

MAY 2016

Martin and Libby Greet - Celere's super trainers in England have been keeping me up to date sending beautiful photos & videos of my Lusitano stallion - Celere, which always puts a smile on my face.

I've been told Celere saw for the first time, deer's running through the bush whilst out on a hack ... I can only imagine how high he grew and which direction he wanted to run! lol glad it was Martin riding him and not me!!

Celere is FINALLY a horse...out in a field each day sporting his new pink rainbow rug (it was on sale and the only fill left!) apparently he loves his field and spends all day grazing. I know in Europe it's not that common to have fields that the horses go into but I'm so happy he has this opportunity with the Greet's.

This week Celere and Martin had an amazing day of competition... Celere's first time competing at medium level... walking away with 2nd and 4th in their 2 tests with very respectful scores. Super good boy! I absolutely love this horse and I can't thank Martin & Libby for all their support and fantastic care and training of Celere.

Finally I have answers for my symptoms and why I haven't felt like 'me'. I wont lie what I am about to explain is ... sad, but is part of my journey and is a story I've decided to share as I want to raise awareness of how crippling 'Rheumatoid' can be – it’s not ‘just’ arthritis!! I also want to express how important and vital it is to believe in your self and listen to your own body.

Over the past month or 2 I've been having tingling in my hands, feet, 'crawling' sensations up my legs... tired and feeling just run down and at times a bit all over the place. My doctors believed I had 'anxiety' which I declared ‘they’ were a bit short of a quid and I refused anti-depressants. I wont lie I am a lion when it comes to my body, I 'know' my body and I’m not scared of telling doctors what I think... I’ve been around long enough fighting this disease to know when something’s wrong. One day I ended up breaking down in tears with my doctor as know one would accept something more was wrong, finally a doctor examined me and found a heart murmur which I'd never had before. I was sent for an ECG and MRI.

Being persistent and knowing my body has saved my life.

The MRI showed my spine has migrated into my skull towards my brain and spinal cord.

This is a result from Rheumatoid. It has destroyed my neck/spine. The C1 and C2 vertebra's are bone on bone and the C1 has naturally fused to my skull, the Rheumatoid has destroyed the ligament, which holds the odontoid in place from migrating into the skull.

I need high-risk surgery to stabilize my neck. I have no choice. If I don’t have the surgery – the outcome is self-explanatory. I wish I had a choice.
It's high risk surgery as this this is the top of the ‘tree’ that feeds the body, it’s surrounded by nerves, spinal cord, brain stem... a lot of things which the neurosurgeon will have to work around. Anything can happen but at the same time things can go right.

The symptoms I've been having are neurological and part of 'this'. The longer I leave my neck like this the higher the risk I will have nerve damage, paralysis and the unthinkable. My spinal cord is OK but I need more scans at different angles as its extremely close and could be compressing.

Sadly I had an MRI done in 2011... but... it was misdiagnosed, no one saw it?! (it was pretty obvious). The Odontoid had started to migrate back in 2011 and over the past 5 years it's progressed at a guess 1mm at a time. Which I look back and it's bloody crazy! I’ve been riding horses, traveling the world, doing hard-core gym sessions, training for the Paralympics, working on my farm lol I admit I don't do things by halves. So I've been 'lucky'. Am I angry it wasn’t picked up 5 years ago. Yes. I’m furious. But at the same time… I’ve lived and I’ve had an amazing 5 years.

Since my news I haven't stopped at just one neurosurgeons opinion... I've spent days reading and I haven't stopped when I call up for an appointment and they say they cant see me for a 'few months' – I tell myself screw that and I send them an email or fax with a letter/scans and I feel blessed that these surgeons have taken the time to read them and squeeze me in within days knowing my situation is serious. You always have to push above and beyond.

Lets be honest - there's not going to be a dumb neurosurgeon, but I need to find someone I believe in, is confident and understands me... my life.
The 1st neurosurgeon I saw... lets just not speak of him. I did not like him. I told him I did not like him.
The 2nd neurosurgeon... I love him, he's worked on many sports people, he was confident, took his time to explain things and when I was walking out of my appointment he introduced me to a lady he had operated on the week before (same operation).... and she was walking!! That was a huge relief to me and after 2 weeks of grief, not eating, crying everyday... I smiled and went to the hospital cafe and got something to eat – a white chocolate brownie and yes it was good!

Will I ride again? In my mind and my heart - yes I will. My recovery is going to be very long, it could take a year or more but neurosurgeon #2 assured me 'we'll get you back on a gg' ... it may not be international competition but just to have that freedom of being in the saddle is comforting to me. Am I scared that after the surgery I could fall off? Well, it's a risk. - You can live your life in fear and not 'live’... or you can live and make the most out of life. My hips were replaced in 2004 and 2005... if I fall off with them the outcome would be horrendous... I could be driving my car and someone hits me, or I could be crossing the road and get hit... life is a risk and fear cant stop you from living.

Speaking of 'fear', when I first found out this news I was crippled by fear, I was convinced I would die or become a quadriplegic - this was from information from neurosurgeon #1 and googling.
I admit I lost my 'fight' and my fear took over but I decided i've fought all my life... why am I giving up now when I need my fight face on the most. That's when I set out to find other neurosurgeons and searched high and low for others that have had this surgery ..... which I admit there's not that many. I've decided when I'm a bit stronger in my mind about my situation... I'm going to write a blog and do some video vlogs so I can help others out there that may be going through the same emotions... the fear... the frustration.
It's a horrible feeling going into the unknown.

My family, Michael, friends have saved me. When I haven't been strong they've been strong for me.

All my health professionals - my chiro, physio... have all given me their personal numbers to call them at anytime when I’m having a bad day and need someone to talk to. I'm overwhelmed by the support I’ve had - I’m not just a patient to them.

The para equestrian officials have been amazing and showed so much support and I’ve been able to call at all hours for a chat.

I would be lost without the army of support around me. As I do feel alone, I don’t know why but when you’re at home with only yourself – the brain wanders. When that happens I’m learning to pick the phone up or talk to my dogs ?

My horses... they don't understand, my beautiful young stallion Hanna Poderoso 'Sam' - looks at me as if he's saying 'why the f aren't you riding me... I'm bored' ... Eddy... my horsey soul mate - he knows... he leaves his dinner and rests his head in my chest while I cry, it's heartbreaking. He's proven he's one in a million time after time after time. Knowing this news I've been teaching Michael to ride... never been on a horse in his life but he's currently cantering on Eddy who has been so careful and understanding. It makes me very proud.

Celere will be staying in England to further his education with Martin who today has another competition. Everything will all stay the same and be there waiting for me when I'm ready, I’m not selling any horses or jumping into decisions.

I don't want pity, please don’t feel sorry for me! What is done is done. I want my story to really hit home – **believe in yourself and know your body**. Don’t be scared to be a lion and fight for your health and be smart… get a 2nd opinion… get 20 if it will make you feel better. Most of all live life and tell you’re loved ones you love them… don’t get so caught up in routines or self-absorbed goals – live life. xx

Well I did it! Over the weekend I competed in my first medium test with Andaluka Elegido 'Eddy'

Awesome score of 67.64% and that's with -2 error! ...BUGGER!! I just zoned out & chucked in an extra movement... shame! Great practice run for an official competition in 3 weeks time.

My aim was 65% so I'm super happy with our efforts, I really enjoyed having the challenge of riding open at this level and having a smile on my face doing what I love.

1st overall para teams (I was selected to represent NSW in the para teams with 2 other para riders)

The conditions were very testing, especially Thursday with the torrential rain, 21mm to be exact during the time I was warming up and performing my test.
Eddy was 100% focused on his job, if anything he loved dancing in the rain - we won this test by 2.5%

I've been home for 2 days from High Performance Squad camp and the Australian Dressage Championships; I’m now getting ready to jump on a plane tomorrow headed for England where I will be training my European based Lusitano stallion Celere. Andaluka Elegido 'Eddy' and I had an amazing time at NSW Dressage State Championships 2015!

All that kept going through my head was 'if I sit down you'll never get me up again' lol I just kept going...I was extremely exhausted from the floods last week, but I went out there and did my best, which saw us improving our scores & gaining personal bests! We kept our title for the 3rd consecutive year winning Champion Grade II Para Equestrian and won all 3 para tests. Over 2 days I completed 5 tests and the highlight was placing 13th out of 30 in a very strong field of talented riders in the Novice 2.3!

AUGUST 2015

There have been very bad floods in our area and sadly we had to evacuate all our horses . SES couldn't get to our property to help us with sand bags so we made them ourselves from the sand of the dressage arena. By 5pm the water had risen 5-7 meters from our house. We managed to fill over 50 odd sand bags dragging them through rising water. Then we just had to wait. All our paddocks went under, the arena & sadly the stables/feed shed.

By midnight the water had stopped rising & by 2am the water started to recede slowly. Thankfully the house didn't get damaged!

We were able to bring home the 2 stallions Andaluka Elegido (Eddy) and Hanna Poderoso (Sam). Eddy got off the float and just STARED at all the water surrounding the property..

We are out of danger. No one was hurt. Just exhausted!!

A big thank you to mum & dad for looking after & keeping our 5 horses safe during this horrible situation and thank you to everyone that has rung & messaged to see how Michael & I are xx

JULY/AUGUST 2015

Today Michael & I had an early start & traveled to the AIS (Australian Institute Of Sport) in Canberra for the last Paralympic team processing!

I can't express how amazing this experience was. Just to be at the AIS and standing in a room surrounded by athletes that have been to previous Paralympic games and some like me that have not yet made our debut. We were all there for the same reason - We are athletes - with determination of representing our country at the next Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro!!

Getting fitted for my uniform sizes I managed to chat to a legend in my eyes - Louise Ellery, seated shot put athlete; Louise represented Australia at 3 Paralympics (Athens, Beijing, London) winning silver at London 2012. Just so inspiring, I'm sure she will be at Rio and I hope I see her there!

I haven't qualified yet; Qualifiers start this December in Australia. For the Australian qualifiers I will be campaigning my PRE stallion Andaluka Elegido "Eddy" and for the European qualifiers I will be campaigning my Lusitano stallion Celere. For 1.5 years I've been bouncing between Australia & Europe training & competing so I'm confident and excited for the next few months and I have to say, today has inspired me to train harder, enjoy the journey, give my stallions plenty of kisses, believe in myself, keep my team strong and just go all out!!!

JULY 2015

We had an amazing day of competition at the Clarendon Winter Dressage Festival. Eddy received many compliments on how well he's looking and how 'chilled out' he is for a stallion, if anything he needed more energy which was needed for the novice 2.2 but we scored mid field out of a huge field so I'm pretty happy.

We were the highest scoring para equestrian combination over the grades achieving a solid 66.143% for the FEI individual Championship test. I was so pleased with these results!!! We left an impression on the 2 judges that were very impressed with the changes I've made recently.

In 3 days I feel Eddy and I have improved. I don't think Eddy has used his hind so much in his life lol. We worked on canter half pass, improving the trot for lengthening, shoulder in and traver. I can't wait to get out there and start competing medium!

It's been a sad week knowing I should be in Hartpury but working with Miguel put the smile back on my face and I feel I have accomplished quite a lot this week with both Eddy and training Sam! I'm looking forward to my next lessons.

I LOVE THIS HORSE!!
2 fantastic tests at the SYDNEY CDI with ANDALUKA ELEGIDO 'EDDY'. 2nd in the team test. 3rd in the championship test with 65.21%.... 0.64% behind first place. Over the moon!!! We showed big improvement in areas we've struggled with in the past and to have judges and the public come up and say how much Eddy has improved... Brilliant.

FEBRUARY 2015

Dressed in Pink for a good cause!
"My Spanish stallion Andaluka Elegido "Eddy" and I had a fantastic day at the Berry Riding Club 'Dressage Pink Day'! a great fundraising event for local riders to wear a splash of pink for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. My HYGAIN pink cap came in handy.

1st in the Novice 2.2 winning by a whooping 9.75% !!
We had our first go at Elementary and placed 3rd in the 3.1.

I have been very unwell lately with a wisdom tooth infection which has made my Rheumatoid flare so I didn't think I would attend this event… but I 'sucked it up' ! I had to get there and attend this event as it was for such a great cause and the perfect excuse to dress Eddy up in pink… I needed a laugh and he LOVED the extra attention everyone was giving him about his pink piggy tails." DECEMBER 2014

*** MERRY CHRISTMAS ***

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that has supported my journey and taken such a big interest in my beautiful horses. It really is a pleasure to share this all with you and I hope you have all found a touch of inspiration to believe in yourself, be happy & go for your dreams whether they are horse related or not - anything is possible.

A big hug to my sponsors Hygain, Technyflex, Mobicosa & Ipac
The teams behind these companies work extremely hard throughout the year & have somehow found so much time to support my journey the past 2 years. I wish everyone a much deserved break over the Christmas period and I look forward to working with you all in 2015 x

NOVEMBER 2014

Andaluka Elegido "Eddy" performed well at the Berry Dressage Club for a solid win in the Novice 2.2 with 8+ combinations competing. A great effort for a disabled rider competing open at this level and also for a PRE stallion holding his own against the Warmblood's

This was Eddy's second competition competing at novice. We hope to have him campaigned in Elementary/Medium during 2015

1st place 2.2 Novice

OCTOBER 2014

A fantastic time at the Australian Dressage Nationals where Victoria was awarded Reserve Champion FEI Para Grade II.

Prior to the Nationals Victoria & Andaluka Elegido "Eddy" attended the Australian High Performance Squad camp where they had daily lessons with Bjarne Elefsen. Victoria boats this was a very rewarding experience and enjoys training with Bjarne when he attends the HP camps.

Victoria had the chance to discuss plans for her training and competition schedule for next year and 2016. To say we are all excited about Celere's and Victoria's Para debut is an understatement!

GO TEAM!

OCTOBER 2014

A successful stopover in the Show ring! - HYGAIN Sponsored Rider Victoria Davies reports:

"Over the long weekend my team and I competed at the AHAA NSW State Championships at SIEC over
an array of disciplines from dressage, hacking, hunter and led. It was a great friendly show & was great to catch up with old friends
as I have not competed at a show for over 7 years!! it's just been all dressage.
We won the Owners group with 3.5yo imported
PRE Andalusian Colt Hanna Poderoso (Sam) and PRE Andalusian stallion Andaluka Elegido "Eddy".

Andaluka Elegido (Eddy) took out the big one of GRAND CHAMPION Led Horse of Show, shown by my partner Michael…and can you believe this was Michael's first ever show running a horse out for led.. amazing job! Eddy carried me to 1st with 69.81% Official 1.2 dressage, 1st Rider 26-40 years, and Champion Hunter Hack - not bad for a para rider!

This was Sam's 3rd outing and 1st time away from home and I can't express how incredibly proud I am at how my 2 stallions behaved - they are true professionals. Sam won Champion Spanish Led Junior Stallion
2nd in 1.1 Dressage and went up against the mature horses to place Reserve Champion Hack… which asked for a flying change which he hadn't done before but did it beautifully!" - Victoria

Eddy was a super star in every way, he looked after me very well & was 100% focused on his work. Best part of the 2 days was when Goncalo said to me "He is a very good horse & you WILL be at Brazil" WOOHOO! all our hard work is paying off!
